New baby, new nursery, and matching everything for my girls...thats pretty much all I need with my second baby also being a girl. I had everything I needed and more, with my first daughter, like every mom.
We are getting ready to redo Hartley's room, I never had the walls exactly as I wanted them, and we are finally tackling this. To be fair, we did gut our entire home while pregnant with her, before moving in, so we had a lot going on. We just couldn't get all the millwork done in time, and then baby arrived, and such is life. Regardless, in the next month I'll be converting her room to a big girl room, and converting our guest room to a nursery for Baby Gray.
Loving this rug from Lorena Canals. Our entire home is grey, white, champagne, gold, and black. The girls' rooms, will still blend in with the rest of our home, yet have a touch of blush. Basically, I'm just taking out the pink that's in Hartley's room now, and adding blush. Loving this rug from Lorena Canals. I originally thought it perfect for Grayson's nursery, but now second guessing myself, as Hartley's favorite song has always been Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. Whenever she was fussy or crying, I'd sing this to her and she would immediately stop...I felt like the baby whisperer..no joke...it was bizarre...and my singing voice is not lovely...ha! I could calm her wherever by singing to her, up until about 19/20 months. She always made me feel so talented, that I could calm her so...like I mastered something in motherhood. Regardless, loving the 3 star design on this rug, and it is now calling her name, for that nostalgia reason. I am thinking of putting it under her table and chairs in one corner of her new big girl room, like I have here. So many options, and I have like a month to start making some decisions here...ha..so last min always! I love how soft this rug is...It's not super thick, like my wool rugs, but its soft and lovely. Both Hartley and our furry son, Oscar, keep laying down on it and rolling around...they obviously love it. What I love about this company, is that all the rugs are machine washable...no joke! No need to spend $80-$100 getting their rug cleaned...seriously so amazing. Also, I love that they are made with natural dyes, handmade, eco friendly, and contain no VOCs like most carpeting and rugs. Their designs are fantastic...a lot of them are sophisticated enough to go in other areas of my home. You've probably seen these advertised in Vogue, as one of the top baby product for celebrity nurseries...yes this is the company...love everything about them, and will probably want to replace the other rug too now. Lorena Canals is also known for their amazing cushions, baskets and blankets...swoon I want them all...such great pieces. Check out their website www.lorenacanals.us and happy nursery/kid's room designing.
The amazing thing about having a second child, the same gender as your first, is you literally need to buy nothing in terms of wardrobe...but you still will here and there, because it's fun. My big thing is, I want my girls to match as much as possible...especially as Grayson gets older, so I will still purchase matching pieces, and a dash of extra cute pieces, that I can't resist. Oh my goodness, nothing is more dreamy than matching daughters...I just love that whole we are a little squad/team thing!! That's my jam! I know they will be best friends, and advocates for each other, and just uniting them in matching clothing, from the get go, just speaks to me. Any chance I can also match...is just on another level...maybe its cheesy, who knows...but I love it! Now, matching doesn't have to be literally the same outfit...it can also be what I chose here. Here, they have the same print, but in two different looks, unifying them, but giving them their individuality...that's kind of more what I'm after.
Loving this company Finn and Emma, also very eco friendly. Their clothes are made with G.O.T.S. certified organic cotton, and non-toxic, eco friendly dyes. The garments have a generous fit, allowing them to be worn longer. I actually ordered up for both girls, because I wasn't exactly sure, and they are obviously big, so I would order true to size, if you want them to wear it right away. Loving this little zebra print...I mean seriously how cute. We are jammie obsessed in this house. I have never bought more jammies for myself, until I became pregnant. I knew I was going to be home more, and not rushing out the door each morning...so I wanted to feel good and look cute, even in my jammies . That turned into me absolutely loving buying jammies for my daughter Hartley...I wanted her cute and cozy too. I have her in a new pair of jammies every night, so I make sure to have almost 2 weeks worth at each size. I liked Hartley to take her big nap still in her jammies, so most times we wouldn't get dressed for the day till 1pm. If I did dress her first thing, I always put her back into her jammies, for her big, 3 hour nap, because I wanted her the most cozy, with no uncomfortableness. I mean, personally I can't even fathom sleeping in jeans or a poofy dress...I would be so uncomfortable...so I'm assuming she'd feel the same way. We are changing her nap schedule, so we will have to adjust here as well. I like my, under age 1 babies, to be in footed one pieces like this about 90% of the time. It's all about being cozy and warm at this stage. I think this is another reason why my babies were so easy...they were always dressed comfy and warm, and swaddled...more on that later. Loving this cute design, zebras are one of my favorite animals, so this set is perfect or me. I love the thickness of the fabric and how well made both pieces are. I'm not interested in cheap jammies...I like a higher quality jammie, because they are in them longer than their clothes each day...buy right, you buy it once. Finn and Emma is not just known for their organic clothing. They have amazing teethers, knit toys, and stunning play gyms. Check the out all their fabulous goodies at www.finnandemma.com...again, wanting everything!!
Thank you to Lorena Canal Rugs, and Finn and Emma for sponsoring this post...of course my opinions are always my own.
