So yes..I like to make little things special and memorable…It’s something I fondly remember my mother doing for me as a child, before she passed. I’ll never forget the way I felt when I saw her creativity come to life, and I’ve taken that through all my years, and expanded on that in my way. What I also remember and cherished the most, was reading books together at the end of every evening…I loved reading, and I loved being able to read out loud to her and my little brother. Throughout my life I’ve always enjoyed reading, and while I get to do it on a rare occasion these days, I read books to my daughters every single night! It’s her tradition that I’ve carried on for my girls, and they look forward to it every single night!! Trust me, even on the days were we stay up late playing games or watching a movie, and I have to try the ole, we are so far passed our bedtime, maybe just one book tonight bit, they start crying...ha…so 3 books…every single night…3 books of their choosing. :) Our furry son Oscar, is our third child, and technically our first baby. He joins us on bed every single night…he loves story time just as much…sweet baby!
I love that Hartley likes to read to Oscar…ha! Can’t even!!! He just likes to be included in everything…Sweet Scroons!
In prepping for our sweet Grayson, who is almost 2 1/2 for preschool…I thought it would be fun to find some cute books to give her some perspective on school, and get her excited for her new journey. Whether she is really taking it all in or not, it’s such a simple idea to make her feel a little special. Bonus, it allows for Hartley to really step up into her Big Sister role, and in turn renew her love of school, by sharing her sweet little moments with her sissy.
These are the 3 books we have been reading and re-reading…prepping for the Big Day! So much cuteness guys…especially the first one!! (The third one’s image is off…but that’s the correct book)
I still need to write my special love notes to her in each of the books…(I love doing that for my girls)
While we normally read books in my bed, this section of Hartley’s room was meant to be her little reading corner, as a baby, we had her rocker here and I would read to her here. This is one of my favorite walls in the house, because it reminds me so much of my momma, and how books can be such a beautiful outlet and inspiration. Her room is yet to be finalized…so we are still missing a few things…but they love their little backrest and poof…now to find a cute rug, once the layout is perfected. Note: we don’t have a lolly when we read books…but as all my mommas can relate…I desperately needed it…every one wanted to wrestle and read today…ha!
Can’t even handle these adorable clothes I found at Walmart for the girls (and myself)! Grayson’s dress is seriously the cutest…and at $8…I need this in every color for her! Obsessed with both their little rose gold slides…so perfect for playing on the playground. We are a dress family for sure…I personally wore dresses almost every single day till 3rd grade…ha! Hartley loves super soft leggings and anything with a Heart…(I might have started that for her, but she loves them on her own now.)
Absolutely loving the kid’s clothing I’m finding at Walmart!! They have such cute designs and are so well priced! I searched the site and found the most adorable items for them. I’m going to link them for you as well, below.
